KJTAX Japan

How we work — from first meeting to engagement

Note: We are currently preparing to open and are not yet accepting inquiries. Here is how the process will work once we do.

1. What to prepare before the first meeting

You do not need everything — bring what you have.

  • Company basics (date of incorporation, business activities, headcount, share capital)
  • Most recent financial statements, if you are already operating
  • Your current accounting software and how bookkeeping is handled today
  • The issues or questions you want to discuss
  • Details of any transactions with the overseas parent (royalties, recharges, etc.)

2. What you will learn in the first meeting (30 minutes, online, free)

  • What Japanese tax obligations apply to your situation, and by when
  • Which service fits — ongoing tax advisory, bookkeeping, or a one-off consultation
  • A rough sense of fees and the assumptions behind a quotation
  • How English support would work in practice, including how much head-office communication we handle

3. How we quote

Fees are calculated individually based on actual workload rather than a fixed package.

  • Monthly transaction volume and complexity
  • Whether bookkeeping is fully outsourced or you enter data in-house and we review
  • Frequency of English reporting and head-office support
  • Scope of year-end work (corporate tax, consumption tax, local taxes, payroll year-end adjustment)
  • Any one-off projects, such as market-entry structuring

4. What we set up in the first 30 days

  • Initial freee configuration and chart of accounts
  • Document exchange and approval workflows
  • An annual tax calendar (available in English for head-office sharing)
  • Your first monthly report

5. Ongoing rhythm

Each month we deliver a trial balance with an English summary and hold online meetings as needed. At year-end, we handle the preparation and filing of your tax returns end-to-end.
